The Mirror Room at MuMMa - Matosinhos Memory Museum hosted another staged reading of Salvé a Língua de Camões. The text presented was “O Aniversário”, by Fernando Morais.
The project by Companhia de Teatro Reator and the Municipality of Matosinhos, one of the most persistent events for the promotion and dissemination of dramaturgies from Portuguese-speaking countries, has been running uninterruptedly for 18 years and aims to promote the dissemination of dramaturgies in Portuguese, presenting staged readings of texts by established and emerging authors, thus stimulating the national and international exchange of actors, playwrights, creators and theater scholars from the various Portuguese-speaking countries.
In its 18th edition, the staged reading of “O Aniversário” was attended by an enthusiastic audience, which highlighted the director's ability to transform a dense text full of symbolism into an interesting, fun reading with moments of reflection.
Playwright Fernando Morais was present and spoke to the audience at the end of the session.
The cycle “Salvé a Língua de Camões”, it is recalled, is the result of a partnership with the Reactor Theater Company and aims to defend and disseminate the Portuguese Language, through dramatized readings of new and established authors and poets of Portuguese literature. and lusophone.
The next session of Salvé a Língua de Camões will take place on the steps of the Municipal Gallery on July 29, at 9:30 pm, with the staged reading of "O Alguidar que cries or the history of stones that speak", by Venâncio Calisto, from Mozambique.
