Candlelight procession in Leça da Palmeira took place this Friday

Celebration of the Apparitions of the Virgin Mary to the three Little Shepherds

On Friday evening, 12 May, the traditional candlelight procession took place in Leça da Palmeira, in the context of the celebration of the Apparitions of the Virgin Mary to the three Little Shepherds, in Fátima, in 1917.

Starting from the Chapel of the Franciscans, at 21.30, the procession covered several streets of the parish, ending the collection of the litter of Our Lady of Fátima with a ceremony in the parish church.

The mayor, Luísa Salgueiro, the vice-president, Carlos Mouta, the president of the Union of Parishes of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira, Paulo Carvalho, as well as several members of the Executive attended the ceremony.
