DDD Festival premiered in Matosinhos

"Serei/Afrodiaspórica", by Dori Nigro, at Festival DDD - Days of Dance

The Casa da Arquitectura was this weekend the stage for another premiere at the DDD - Dance Festival.

"Serei/Afrodiaspórica", a creation by the Brazilian performer and educator Dori Nigro, featured performances by Aline Carvalho, Celise Manuel, Cláudia Henriques, Geandry Péres, Heidy Luz, Lucas Reis, Melissa Rodrigues, Mina Velicastelo, Luah, Peter Odeyale, Rafael Machado, Thaís Guimarães, Vinicius Armstrong and Wura Moraes.

The show, according to the author, "weaves threads of auto/biographical memories, sewing senses inspired by African-American ancestral mythologies, stamped with spiritualities, dreams and present (past and future) crossings in living black lives".

"Serei/Afrodiaspórica" will be performed again at the same venue at 6pm. Admission is free.

The seventh edition of the DDD Festival - Days of Dance takes place from 18 to 30 April in Matosinhos, Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
