Quinta do Vieira Basic School, in Custóias, received the Green Heart Certification

On 15 October, the Green Heart Event was held in the auditorium of the Organic Recovery Plant of Lipor, with more than 100 participants.

This event, in this first edition, was mainly dedicated to educational and social institutions enrolled in the Generation+ Educational Programme, which have a common goal - to achieve the Green Heart Certification. On this occasion, 27 new Green Heart Certifications were awarded to institutions based in the eight Lipor municipalities, recognising the sustainability practices adopted by the institution and the positive impact generated in the surrounding environment. The EB1/JI of Quinta do Vieira, in Custóias, was one of the certified teaching establishments, having received the award by the hands of Manuela Álvares, Councillor for the Environment and Administrator of Lipor.

Besides the analysis of the 9 years of Geração+ activity and the discussion about the challenges for the future, the event was marked by the inter-institutional sharing of initiatives with impact, but also by the identification of new methodologies of creation and innovation, which transform ideas into actions.

The morning ended with the intervention of Ricardo Diniz, lone navigator, who used his experience, the difficulties and achievements of someone who has already done almost 4 times around the world, to reinforce to the participants the importance of teamwork, individual and collective resilience and the definition of goals and a motivating purpose.

The main purpose of this initiative is to create an informal moment of encounter between partners, building a spirit of cooperation, which is influential and disseminates circular communities.
