A 39-year-old construction worker was taken to São João Hospital in Porto today in a serious condition after falling about 10 meters into a building under construction, a source from the fire department told Lusa
The accident occurred by 10h14, in Rua Congosta do Abade, in Leça da Palmeira, municipality of Matosinhos, having the man fell into the elevator shaft, added the source of the Fire Department of Matosinhos/Leça.
"The rescue work was complicated due to the confined space in which he was fallen," explained the source, revealing that when they reached him, "the man was conscious, after which he was stabilized."
By 11:15 he was transported to the Hospital S. João in "serious condition", with "suspected to be polytraumatized", said.
On site, in addition to the Fire Department of Matosinhos-Leça was also the Emergency Medical Vehicle and Resuscitation of the Pedro Hispano and Moto Medical Emergency Matosinhos.
