French GiFi opens its first store in Matosinhos

Company specialized in the smart discount segment already has 600 stores. By 2027 it intends to open a thousand stores and have a team of 10 thousand people, globally

It is present in 17 countries and next Thursday it will open its first store in Portugal. Matosinhos - in Matosinhos Retail Park - was the Portuguese city chosen to receive the first GiFi, a brand specialized in home goods, decoration, leisure, festive and seasonal products. All at "reduced prices, all year round", says the company, in a press release.

The French company - founded in 1981 - wants to open 1,000 stores by 2027, supported by a team of 10,000 employees. Currently, GiFi has 600 spaces and employs 6700 people, globally.

For GiFi's international director, the objective of the new store in Matosinhos is to offer the Portuguese "a list of Great Ideas, with ultra-competitive prices that simultaneously meet their personal, family and professional needs". Franck Allard says that GiFi is a pioneer brand in the smart discount segment, that counts with "a legacy of more than 40 years of experience and we work daily, to gain the loyalty of a multigenerational public".

And explains that the concept of the brand "is based on a range of contemporary products, irreverent, differentiators, which surprise the customer, always with the premise of the best price: 65% of GIFI articles are no more than five euros, because we recognize the impact that the current financial situation produces in the life of each one. GIFI also maintains a close relationship with the national industry and is already working with Portuguese suppliers in a strategy to strengthen its distribution chain.

The brand guarantees the originality of its products, since it creates its own designs, keeping an eye on market trends and says it wants to accompany its customers in the most festive and important times of their lives, such as Christmas, back to school, birthdays, weddings and other types of parties.
