LEÇA CHESS OPEN is part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Grupo Desportivo de Basquete de Leça
GD Basquete de Leça Chess is organizing an International Chess Tournament, the LEÇA CHESS OPEN, which will take place at the Municipal Pavilion of Leça da Palmeira, between July 31 and August 5, 2022.
It is a chess event with classic rhythm matches (90'+30”) that is part of the “Portugal Chess Tour” National Circuit promoted by the Portuguese Chess Federation, which will be played in 9 rounds, and which is intended to promote Chess and to place Leça da Palmeira in the itinerary of national and international competitions of this modality.
This Tournament meets all the conditions to be a success, with the participation of several categorized International Masters and Grand Masters of Chess, national and foreign, as well as other valuable players, which will certainly contribute to increase its competitive component.
