The idea came from a representing teacher of the Physics and Chemistry subject.
The Matosinhos Primary School now has a large periodic table made out of tiles on the cement columns on its façade.
The idea of creating this periodic table came from João Pedro Lima, Physics and Chemistry teacher at the school, as a way of marking ‘155 years since the first version of this important universal document was drawn up’.
The periodic table represents the chemical elements and was created in 1869 by the German chemist Julius Lothar Meye.
