Last exhibition of the year at Casa do Design opens today at 4pm

The retrospective exhibition "João Carlos" is the last exhibition of the year to open at Casa do Design, in Matosinhos.

Dedicated to João Carlos Celestino Gomes, whose activity as an illustrator and designer developed from the twenties until his death, in 1961, the exhibition is curated by designer Jorge Silva and displays a total of 111 pieces that include prints on panels and shop windows, books, magazines and pamphlets.

Organised by esad-idea, in partnership with the Matosinhos and Setúbal City Halls, the exhibition opens tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Casa do Design, and was presented for the first time during the Setúbal Illustration Festival 2020. This exhibition also gave rise to the homonymous publication, co-published by esad-idea and Arranha-Céus.

The opening session includes a tour with commentary by the curator.
