The 3rd edition of the Leça Chess Open International Chess Tournament will take place between 31 July and 6 August.
The Leça Chess Open is back after the success of previous editions. The tournament will take place at the Boa Nova High School sports hall in Leça da Palmeira from 31 July to 6 August.
This tournament is organised by the chess department of the Grupo Desportivo de Basquete de Leça and is part of the international sports calendar of FIDE (International Chess Federation) tournaments as well as the ‘Portugal Chess Tour’ circuit of chess tournaments, promoted by the Portuguese Chess Federation.
During the tournament, more than 200 players from 25 different countries are expected to compete for trophies and prize money over seven days in what is expected to be a competitive atmosphere.
The Leça Chess Open is supported by Matosinhos City Council, Matosinhos Sport, the Portuguese Chess Federation, the Porto Chess Association and Boa Nova High School.
