Leça da Palmeira Parish Hall with better conditions

The Parish Hall of Leça da Palmeira was the subject of a deep renovation project, which had the support of the Matosinhos City Council

The intervention aimed to completely revitalize the building, provide the parish with better working conditions, as well as enhance the surrounding area.

The inauguration took place yesterday and was attended by the Bishop of Porto, D. Manuel Linda, the President of the Municipality, Luísa Salgueiro, the parish priest of Leça da Palmeira, Father Francisco Andrade, Councilors Fernando Rocha and Vasco Pinho, and the president of union of the parishes of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira, Paulo Carvalho.

In addition to the unveiling of the inauguration plaque and the blessing of the installations, the ceremony included the performance of the Guitar Duo, Paulo Ramos and Rui Namora, professors at the Leça da Palmeira School of Music, and Mariana Sequeira, who ended with the interpretation of the “Hail Mary” by Franz Schubert.

This work completes the set of three interventions decided by the Municipality within the scope of a protocol signed, in 2014, with Galp, to offset the negative effects of its activity on the community. The amount of €1,200,000 was used to refurbish the Capela do Corpo Santo, the Parish Hall of Leça da Palmeira and the Capela da Boa Nova.
