Luísa Salgueiro applauds minimum services on behalf of municipalities

The teachers' unions consider that the decree on minimum services in schools is an attack on the right to strike, but the president of the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP), Luísa Salgueiro, believes that this is good news for students who were left without access to meals

The mayor of Matosinhos, who chairs the ANMP, in statements to Antena 1, says that the minimum services turn out to be beneficial for students who were without access to meals, due to protests of teachers and operational assistants.

The minimum services in the strike of teachers and operational assistants only come into force on Wednesday.

According to Louise Salgueiro, several municipalities have decided, however, ensure the opening of canteens, even in schools without classes, so that students are not deprived of a hot meal.

Remember that it is up to the directors of school groupings to decide who works to meet minimum services.

This is the result of a circular sent by the Directorate-General of School Establishments to schools. The guidance is to meet already from Wednesday and also included employees.
