Mainland Portugal with very high level of pollens in the atmosphere

The levels of pollens in the atmosphere will be very high in mainland Portugal until at least next Thursday, indicates the latest pollen bulletin from the Portuguese Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SPAC)



The pollen present in the air comes mainly from pine trees, olive trees, holm oak trees and other oak trees and also from parietaria, nettle, grasses, plantain and sorrel.

The forecasts until April 27, in Lisbon (region of Lisbon and Setubal), indicate that pollens are at very high levels, with a predominance of pollens from holm oak, oak, plane tree and cypress trees and of nettle and parietaria herbs.

In Porto (Entre Douro e Minho region) pollens are at a high level, with pollens from pine, birch and oak trees and from grasses, parietaria and nettle standing out.

In Vila Real (region of Trás-Os-Montes e Alto Douro), pollens are at a high to very high level.

In Coimbra (Beira Litoral region), SPAIC highlights pollens from pine, olive tree and oak trees and from the grasses parietaria and nettle.

The bulletin also predicts very high levels in Castelo Branco (Beira Interior region), with a predominance of pollens from pine trees and oak trees and grass, nettle, plantain and sorrel.

In Évora (Alentejo region), pollens are at a very high level, with pollens from pine trees, olive trees, holm-oaks and other oaks and grassy grasses, wall pellitory, nettle, plantain and sorrel standing out.

In the Algarve region, pollens are also at a very high level and pollens from cypress, pine, olive, holm oak and other oak trees, and from the grasses: parietaria, nettle, plantain, sorrel and quenopodium predominate.
