Throughout the day on Saturday 25 May, the 2nd edition of the Porto Cello Festival will offer six cello concerts in different venues in the building.
The first moment of the festival will be a Yoga and Cello Workshop at 12 noon on the building's terrace, looking for a balance between breathing and movements, present in music and yoga, with cellist Pirii Pimentel and yoga teacher Ricardo Marques.
At 2pm there's a moment for the younger ones, ‘Violoncelos de encantar’, with a musical adaptation by Duo NOZ, of the story ‘A Menina do Mar’, by Sophia De Mello Breyner Andresen, taking place in the Sala de Embarque.
At 4pm, under the heading ‘Porto & Bach’, Paolo Pandolfo will treat the public to Suite no. 6 by J.S. Bach, in the building's reception area.
Franz Schubert's Quintet Concert follows in the Events Room at 17.30. The Matosinhos String Quartet will be joined by Varoujan Bartikian.
The event will also be rounded off by the Gulbenkian Orchestra's Cello Ensemble.
