The Quinta de Santiago Museum, in Leça da Palmeira, Matosinhos, has extended until April 30th the exhibition allusive to the 150th anniversary of the birth of António Carneiro

Visitors now have two more months to see dozens of works by the multifaceted artist.
According to a note sent to the press, the decision to extend the show, which would close yesterday, is due to "the great affluence of the public, from all over the country and even internationally. The exhibition has counted, so far, "with more than two thousand visitors", the statement adds.
"António Carneiro. The poet with brushes" brings together about 70 works of art, objects and documents of the one who was considered the precursor of symbolism in Portugal.
Most of the works on display are part of the collection of the Matosinhos City Hall, "one of the public entities with the largest number of paintings by the artist, nearly fifty," the statement said.
Nevertheless, the exhibition also includes a number of pieces from other institutions, such as the Misericórdia Museum of Porto, the Soares dos Reis National Museum, the Grão Vasco National Museum, the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Chiado, the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Municipal Museum, the João de Deus Museum, and the Marques da Silva Foundation.
