Unemployed registered with the IEFP drop 9.5% in January compared to the same month in 2022
The number of unemployed registered with the IEFP fell 9.5% in the first month of the year, to 322,087 people, being the second month of January with the lowest value of the last 30 years, announced today the government.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, "the number of unemployed registered with the IEFP [Institute of Employment and Vocational Training] in January (322,087 people) was the second lowest January in the last 30 years, registering a decrease of 9.5% (-33,782 people) compared to January 2022.
However, compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed increased by 4.9%, representing an increase of 15,082 people.
