The support, which aims to offset the impact of price increases, will not reach all accounts at the same time. Payments will be phased in and around 500,000 transfers will be processed per day
According to Finance Minister Fernando Medina, it is estimated that ten days will be enough to conclude the first phase of payments. The support will be delivered to around 5.8 million Portuguese, which will cost around 730 million euros for the state coffers.
The measure is aimed at the majority of the population, only those with incomes over €2,700 per month will be excluded from this measure.
