The best ice rinks in the North to slide down during the festive season

Although it is a tradition little explored in Portugal, the truth is that the ice rinks at this time of the year are very popular in many cities around the world

This is a fun activity for kids and adults, where you don't have to be an excellent skater to enjoy the moment.

In the country, ice rinks are becoming more and more popular and there are three in the North to try until the end of this year. There you can explore your skating skills, whether it's sliding, pirouetting, or sliding.

In Gaia the rink is located in the Christmas Square next to other attractions such as the market, the French carousel, the train, and Santa's house. This year it is adapted to the weather emergency and therefore has no water or electricity consumption, but guarantees an equally fun and identical experience to that of traditional ice skating. Those interested can go to the site this Thursday and Friday between 2pm and 8pm; and on the 31st from 11am to 4pm.

In Maia, the ice rink is in the Dr. José Vieira de Carvalho square and is free of charge. There is also a Christmas market, a French carousel, and the usual Santa Claus house. The rink is the center of attention of the Christmas entertainment, arousing the curiosity of those who come to the center of the municipality of May. This attraction is open Thursday from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 10pm, and on Friday it is open until 11pm; on the 24th it closes earlier, at 6pm; December 25th from 3pm to 8pm; December 31st from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm; and on January 1st between 2pm and 10pm.

In the city of Braga the Altice Fórum park hosts the ice rink. Many people have been going there to defy the laws of physics and skate. The use of gloves is mandatory in the ice rink, so people are advised to bring this accessory. However, gloves are also available for sale at the ice rink tent in case people do not bring the accessory with them.

The price of individual tickets is 6€ and the family pack is 5€. This Thursday and Friday the rink is open between 4pm and 11pm; on the 24th from 10am to 6pm; December 25th from 4pm to 11pm; December 31st, the space will be closed between 6pm and 10pm; and on January 1st it is open between 4pm and 11pm.
