The airline will have, during the coming months, up to 14 flights per week between Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport and the two Swiss airports, according to Público newspaper.
The forecast is that there will be six flights a day, four to Zurich and two to Geneva, with the highlight being the early morning flight that departs from Porto at 3.05 am and lands in Zurich at 6.30 am.
The Lufthansa group in Portugal said that "the 70 percent increase in connection supply in 2019 is unparalleled with other Western European cities." "In total, Swiss is operating a record number of nine daily flights from the five Portuguese cities of Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Funchal and Ponta Delgada to Switzerland in the summer schedule," Thomas Ahlers, general sales director of the Lufthansa group, stressed at the same conference.
Porto will thus have more flights than the other four Portuguese airports combined, with 24 weekly flights, followed by Lisbon, with 15 flights, Faro, with eight flights, Funchal, with three, and Ponta Delgada, with two, from the Swiss and Edelweiss airlines.
