Twenty-six reservoirs with water availability above 80% in February

Twenty-six of the 59 reservoirs monitored at the end of February had more than 80% of their total volume available, while nine had less than 40%, according to data from the National Water Resources Information System (SNIRH)



According to the data, on the last day of February and compared to the last day of the previous month there was a decrease in nine and an increase in the volume stored in three river basins.

The basin of the western Algarve, with 13.1%, had at the end of February the lowest amount of water stored overall.

The average storage for the month of February in the western Algarve basin is 73.8%, according to the SNIRH.

The basins of the Mira (36.8%), Arade (41.5%) and Sado /58.9%) also had less water available.

The basins of the Guadiana (85.8%), Tagus (85.7%), Douro (80.7%), Oeste (80.2%), Cávado e Lima (78.1%), Mondego (66.5%) and Ave (64.7%) had the highest levels.
