A new exhibition - [From the Archive] Matosinhos Not Built - entirely produced by Casa da Arquitectura and dedicated to the Archive's collection, has opened to the public

Casa da Arquitectura celebrates five years since it occupied the premises in the Quarteirão da Real Vinícola in Matosinhos, assuming its vocation as the Portuguese Architecture Centre.
The programme of celebrations began yesterday with the awarding of the title of Honorary Associate of the Casa da Arquitectura to the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo by the Secretary of State for Housing, Marina Gonçalves.

Immediately afterwards, the 1996 Pritzker Prize winner gave a lecture and then there was the inauguration of a new exhibition - [From the Archive] Matosinhos Not Built - entirely produced by Casa da Arquitectura and dedicated to the Archive's collection.
Today, at 6pm, the Luís Ferreira Alves Space will be inaugurated, as a tribute to the photographer who died last July, considered to be the precursor of architectural photography.
The ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Culture, Pedro Adão e Silva, who will close, at 4.30 p.m., the ceremony of donation of new collections by the architects Fernanda Seixas and Manuel Correia Fernandes.
The commemorative programme presents countless activities until 27 November. There are more than 40 actions for all audiences. Book launches, conferences, exhibitions, artistic performances, activities for families and children, workshops, guided tours to the exhibitions, promotions in the Casa Shop, Street Food and a Flash Party with DJs Nuno Grande, Pedro Falcão and Rita Mendes, are some of the activities planned.
