In 2012, in Douro Marina (Afurada, Vila Nova de Gaia), BBDouro launched itself in the Portuguese nautical market as a sailing academy, fruit of the ambition of its founder - Diogo Barros - to change the way sailing was presented in Portugal. At the time, the company structure had two employees, a container/warehouse/office and a fleet of 4 boats.
Over the past eleven years, BBDouro conquered its place in the industry, expanding its private and corporate services, always acting with ambition and focus on creating value for all its clients. Currently, BBDouro is characterized for being a company that offers a wide range of nautical experiences, from sailing academy and boat trips to corporate events and nautical trainings.
During the 10-year celebrations, the company announced the purchase of Ondastar, a company that sells, maintains and repairs leisure boats that had been one of BBDouro's major suppliers and partners in recent years. According to Diogo Barros, this was a natural step in the company's sustainable growth that allows bringing "a new and renewed approach to the boating market in the North of Portugal".
This week, BBDouro strengthened its position in the boating market in the north of Portugal by announcing the purchase of Douro Yachts, a company with history in the nautical market, also specialized in boat maintenance and repair. A step that, in the words of its founder, "allows us to offer our customers a complete service throughout any kind of nautical journey".
