Best tourism film in the world belongs to Porto

The promotional film of the Tourism of Porto and North "The Majestic Adventures of Ofelia de Souza" was awarded the title of best Tourism film in the world

For the entity's president, Luís Pedro Martins, "it is the corollary of an incredible job of positioning the region", which allowed it to increase its notoriety and positioning. "It is an honour for us to win an award that had never been won by Portugal before," he adds.

According to the press release, the film came "in first place in this ranking thanks to the points earned following the awards received in the 10 festivals that make up" the world circuit of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT). A circuit where it competed with 34 other foreign promotional films.

The president of Turismo do Porto e Norte emphasizes that "the awards won by the film "Ofélia de Souza'" prove the bet made on a very disruptive, creative, original and somewhat risky communication, in the Business Tourism segment, in which the region has a very high potential either by the quality of the existing spaces here, either by the existing offer in the social aspect in the pre and post-events".

The ceremony of the 34th edition of the World's Tourism Film Awards took place this Thursday, in Valencia, where Luís Pedro Martins, also pointed out that the "victory is another incentive for all partners of the Porto and North, which after two hard years, with their effort, allowed the fulminant return of the sector to pre-pandemic values".

The film had already been distinguished with a Golden Dolphin at the 13th edition of the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards.
