Last weekend, the first edition of BREAKUP! took place at Florbela Espanca Park, in Leça da Palmeira. The first edition of the event BREAKUP! - an Urban Art festival held and staged by local artists
Throughout the day, the park had different sports activities,
namely "Street Basket", promoted by Grupo Desportivo de Basquete de Leça, "Street Soccer", promoted by Ass. Académica de Leça and Matosinhos Futsal and also "Street Handball", promoted by Clube de Andebol de Leça.
In addition to these, incredible dance moments were also presented with the participation of
the Matosinhos Dance Academy, the Just Dance School and the Attitude
Attitude Dance School.
One of the most awaited moments of the event took place during the afternoon on the BREAKUP stage! MC Putto, Flores, Kony, Joker, Renz One, Flow, Crista and Dj Mxzt, joined on stage to show their music and join the crowd to the rhythms of "Hip Hop made in Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira".
In partnership with Junta de Freguesia, the Association HumanizARTE, also promoted
also promoted a Rap workshop, where the participants learned the basics of rhyme
construction of rhymes and showed their work at the closing of the event. After an inspiring performance by these "new artists" and by way of surprise, the President of the Junta de Freguesia, Paulo Carvalho made this moment even more memorable, manifesting the will of the municipality to record the theme created and make it the anthem of future editions of BREAKUP!
Last but not least the "Live Graffiti" that counted with the participation of Paulo Boz, Root One and Ofer. The artists produced pieces of distinct styles letting creativity flow in different colours, formats and images.
