Christmas Dream

Christmas programme of the Junta de Freguesia includes Christmas Market, Children's Shows, Arrival of Father Christmas, Dance and Theatre

The "Christmas Dream" will take place, between the 16th and 23rd of December, in the Eng. Fernando Pinto de Oliveira Park, in Leça da Palmeira.

This is a cultural programming of the Parish Council, especially designed for this period of the festive season and will include several attractions, namely a Christmas Market with gastronomic products and handicrafts, Children's Shows, Music, Dance, Theatre and other special moments.

"After a period of interregnum related to the pandemic, this executive has made every effort for the magic of Christmas to return to Leça da Palmeira. Thus, once again, we will have in the Eng. Fernando Pinto de Oliveira Park a set of attractions and shows that will bring even more joy to this Christmas season", said Paulo Carvalho, Chairman of the Board.

The mayor also highlighted the strong social component of this event:

"The Christmas Dream was also designed to get even closer to our children. In collaboration with DEMOS Association, a partner entity of this event, we will have, on the 17th and 18th of December, a gift-giving to the 1st cycle students of the Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira Schools. This moment will be marked with the "Arrival of Father Christmas", who will deliver the respective gifts".

As far as the remaining program is concerned, the "Christmas Dream" will count on the participation of local associations, namely the Parish Theatre Group of Leça da Palmeira, the Ethnographic Group of the Castle Fishermen, the Amorosa Typical Ranch, the Just Dance School, the Attitude Dance School, the Leça da Palmeira Ballet School and the Leça da Palmeira Cycling Titans Sports Association. In addition to these, Christmas workshops, face painting and children's shows are also scheduled.
