Experts debate “The new Humanity: Diversity and Cooperation”
The Leixões Cruise Terminal hosts the international conference “Connecting Healthcare”, which is now in its fourth edition.
Organized by the SEAL Group and the Local Health Unit of Matosinhos, this event has the theme “The new Humanity: Diversity and Cooperation” and has the participation of national and international experts from various areas of activity, sharing their vision and bringing the debates the challenges in this new world in which we live.
The Vice-President of the Municipality of Matosinhos and responsible for Social Intervention and Health, Carlos Mouta, was present.
The opening session was attended by the director of the SEAL Group, Manuel Cepeda, and the member of the Board of Directors of the Local Health Unit of Matosinhos, Catarina Aguiar Diogo.
This was followed by a lecture by Australian researcher Michael McQueen on the future of humanity.
Throughout the day, more than 20 guest speakers addressed topics such as sustainability, health and economy, human cooperation and digital transformation, artificial intelligence at the service of the health of the future, overcoming life and sport, evidence-based medicine, democracy in times crisis, the challenges of generational diversity and research at the service of Humanity (the latter with Benjamin List, Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2021).
The closing session will be attended by the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, the Mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Local Health Unit of Matosinhos, António Taveira Gomes, and the founder of the SEAL Group , Sergio Almeida.
