The 23rd edition of the Inter-school Sporting Tournaments took place from 2 to 8 May and involved students from six secondary schools in the municipality (Abel Salazar, Augusto Gomes, Boa Nova, João Gonçalves Zarco, Senhora da Hora and Padrão da Légua) who competed in handball, badminton, futsal, volleyball, basketball and athletics

The main goal of this project is to promote organised sports practice and exchange between the students of the various schools, which also aims to stimulate skills such as cooperation and teamwork and to develop a taste for sports practice in the student community.
The sports complex of Leça da Palmeira was the place chosen to once again host the finals of the tournament, which counted, in the final ceremony of delivery of cups and medals, with the presence of the Mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro, accompanied by the councillor for Sports of the municipality, Vasco Pinho, and by the executive director of Matosinhos Sport, Henrique Calisto, as well as various school grouping directors and teachers of the municipality of Matosinhos.
The initiative was the responsibility of physical education teachers from the School Groups and Non-Grouped Schools with the support of the Matosinhos City Hall.
