On January 12 and 13, Matosinhos will host "BOOST, Building Better Tourism", an event dedicated to the potential of green tourism and the growth of technology in the sector. It takes place at the Matosinhos Cruise Ship Terminal
Organized by Nest - Center for Tourism Innovation and with the support of the Municipality of Matosinhos, the initiative will bring together, at the Cruise Terminal, more than 50 national and international speakers, 15 startups from various countries and about 200 people to attend.
The importance of digital transformation in tourism and the challenges of reconciling continuous growth with sustainability and social responsibility are the topics for debate.
It is expected the presence and interventions of several international personalities, such as the president of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Christa Schweng; the Industry Relations Manager, Travel, EMEA, of Google, Feria Kazemi, the head of Tourism of Malaga Tourism Board, Jonathan Punzon; Itai Green, CEO of Innovate Israel, the CEO of Mastercard, Maria Antónia Saldanha; João Ricardo, member of the Board of Directors of NOS; João Oliveira, Chief Business Officer of Vision-box; the Secretary of State for Commerce, Services and Tourism, Nuno Fazenda, among others.
Matosinhos will be the testing ground for numerous pilot projects, with the goal of a future global application.
