ESAD students design surf schools for the beaches
In a partnership with the Matosinhos City Hall, the 1st year students of the Master in Interior Design of ESAD - School of Arts and Design were challenged to create buildings to host surf schools for the beaches of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira.
The buildings, with max. 40 m2 of covered area and max. 50 m2 of uncovered area, have a pine wood structure. The models and drawings are on display in the atrium of ESAD until March 10th. Of the selected projects, three were awarded and are likely to be built and implemented by the Matosinhos municipality. They are by the students Ana Sofia Barbosa Peixoto Cruz, Ana Sofia Vasconcelos Babo Amaral Moinhos, Beatrice Zambelli, Matilda Proda Dauti, Joana Martins Ferreira, Mariana Araújo Almeida, Bruna Alves Amorim and Mariana Gonçalves Ferreira Saraiva Taveira.
The exhibition "Surf Point Matosinhos" received on Wednesday, February 15, the visit of the mayor, Luísa Salgueiro, the councilor for Economic Development, Trade and Tourism, Marta Pontes, and the president of the union of parishes of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira, Paulo Ramos de Carvalho.
