Expo Fish Portugal 2022 is the largest support venue for the fish sector

Exhibition exclusively dedicated to Portuguese fish returns in November, after the success of the first edition

Docapesca, with the high patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, will promote the 2nd edition of EXPO FISH PORTUGAL, the largest space for the promotion of Portuguese fish and sea related activities, on the 15th and 16th of November.

The fair will be composed of an exhibition space, with a virtual component, through a B2B business meeting platform, with the possibility of scheduling meetings by video call, according to the profiles and interests of the participants.

A conference will also take place at the Leixões Cruise Terminal, in Matosinhos, in a hybrid format (face-to-face and virtual), bringing together a diverse panel of speakers and experts who will discuss new market trends, new products and services, challenges to internationalisation, financing opportunities, digitalisation, among others.

The main objective of the event is to contribute to the internationalization and promotion of activities related to the fishing sector and the commercialization of fish, as well as other activities related to the sea, such as naval construction and repair, recreational boating and tourism.

2nd edition of EXPO FISH PORTUGAL

Another novelty in this year's edition is the Expo Fish Portugal Innovation Award, an idea contest in the scope of innovation and research connected to the sea food sector, open to higher education students and start-ups.

"With this initiative, we want to leverage the internationalization of the fishing sector and the marketing of fish, increasing consumption in major markets, and simultaneously, create sustained and lasting relationships with new destinations, which see in the Portuguese fish, a product of unique quality," says the Secretary of State for Fisheries, Teresa Coelho.

The first edition of Expo Fish Portugal was attended by 62 fish importers from more than 30 international markets and 81 exhibitors. The platform registered around 4,000 visitors over the two days of the event and the conferences obtained more than 2,000 views on YouTube, and 183 B2B meetings were held.

The success of 2021 was an incentive to hold the new edition of Expo Fish Portugal, which we hope can actively contribute to maintain the trend of sustainable growth of exports in the fish sector in our country, says the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Docapesca, Sérgio Faias.

Registration for Expo Fish Portugal and the conference programme is available on the event's official website at www.expofishportugal.com.
