The villages of Custóias, Leça do Balio and Guifões, in Matosinhos, will host on 14, 15 and 16 April the 5th edition of Moinho Cine Fest, a festival of short, micro and nano films
On screen will be 54 films from 26 countries, which were selected from a total of 590 entries.
The event kicks off at Custóias Parish Council, with a competitive screening, scheduled for 9:15pm. The following day, the same venue will host another competitive session, this time in the children's category, at 10:15. Later, highlight to the "non-competitive session: Custóias seen by contemporary Portuguese cinema", scheduled for 11am.
The sessions will continue at 4pm and 9.15pm, at Leça do Balio Cultural Centre. On Sunday, the 16th, the closing event will take place at 4pm at the Guifões Parish Council.
According to the promoters, "all the films in competition will receive an exhibition fee", and there will also be "eight monetary prizes".
The announcement of the winners will be made at the opening session of the festival, after an evaluation by a jury composed by the actress Joana Nunes, the director and producer Luís Miranda and the playwright Roberto Merino.
Moinho Cine Fest is organized by ANARTEM - Cultural Association under the direction of the filmmaker André Almeida Rodrigues.
