EB Prof. Óscar Lopes receives certificate on anniversary day
The EB Prof. Óscar Lopes received today the Healthy Buffet certificate, which attests to the hygiene, safety and food quality of the buffets.
The process was implemented by the Matosinhos City Hall, in the scope of the Dispatch no. 8127/2021, which establishes the standards to be taken into account in the preparation of menus and the sale of food in buffets and vending machines in educational and teaching establishments of the Ministry of Education's public network.
The certification process involves carrying out diagnostic audits, drawing up procedures to be adopted, training buffet staff, verifying the procedures implemented, awarding a certificate and a new inspection to check that good practices are maintained.
The Healthy Buffet certificate, awarded to EB Prof. Óscar Lopes, was delivered today, as part of the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of that institution.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Matosinhos, Palmira Macedo, the Councillor for Education, António Correia Pinto, the Regional Delegate for Education of the North, Luís Lobo, and the Director of the Prof. Óscar Lopes School Grouping, Maria Luísa Santos.
The municipality is also implementing the same process in the establishments of the Schools Grouping of Senhora da Hora. By the end of the year, it is estimated that four school buffets in the municipality will be certified.
