IPMA puts fourteen districts under yellow warning due to heat

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) placed, this Saturday, July 30th, 14 districts of mainland Portugal under yellow warning, due to the forecast of hot weather

Thus, the districts of Porto, Braga, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Vila Real, Bragança, Viseu, Guarda, Coimbra, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Évora and Beja will be under yellow warning between 09:00 and 18:00: 00 on Saturday due to the persistence of high values of the maximum temperature.

For the district of Porto, the forecast, on Saturday and Sunday, points to highs of around 31 degrees. The sky will be clear or slightly cloudy. As for the minimum temperature, it will be 19 degrees on both days. This Friday the maximum temperature will be a little lower, 25 degrees, and the minimum 16 degrees.

The yellow warning (the least serious of a scale of three) is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
