The 15 by 13 meter mural, in Matosinhos, by Daniel Eime, is a tribute to Capicua and is the last stop in the exhibition that portrays protagonists from the regions of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela

The last mural of the world's most extensive art exhibition, "The Stars on the Path" has been unveiled. It is a tribute to the rapper Capicua, in a mural 15 by 13 meters. "The Stars of the Way" is an initiative of the Estrella Galicia brewery: an exhibition with a total length of 370 km that links the French Way of Santiago de Compostela to the Portuguese Way.
The final mural depicting Ana Matos, better known as Capicua, a rapper and writer born in Porto, can now be found at 883 Recarei Street. The author is the urban artist Daniel Eime, also born in Porto.
Ana Matos (Capicua)
Portuguese singer and songwriter Ana Matos (Capicua) explains that this mural is representative of a special relationship between Portugal and Spain: "The Camino de Santiago is the umbilical link between the two peoples who, deep down, are part of the same culture."
Ana Matos is one of the nine figures featured in this project. The nine murals of the Portuguese Way of Santiago de Compostela cross 230 km, which portray local characters with stories of overcoming linked to the land and the Way of Santiago. The murals were developed by Galician artist Lula Goce and Portuguese artist Daniel Eime in nine locations, starting in Spain: Padrón; Caldas de Reis; Pontevedra; O Porriño; and Tui. In Portugal, the murals are in Rubiães, Ponte de Lima, Barcelos, and Matosinhos. Next to each mural there is a QR Code to learn more about the stories of "The Stars of the Way".
The goal of the initiative is to pay tribute to the real protagonists of the Camino de Santiago, the people who live these regions intensely and, in a way, are part of the history of the Camino de Santiago, by making their towns and villages available to the pilgrims.
The Galician brewery Estrella Galicia shows that there are encounters and stories that unite Galicia and Portugal with murals and not only: also through a series of short documentaries that bring together pairs of these characters for a conversation about art, dream and overcoming. In Capicua's case, her documentary partner is the pianist Andrea González, a native of Tui. "I've never done the Road to Santiago, but from this side, from Oporto, I think it means a lot that connection between the north of Portugal and Galicia and that feeling that when we cross the border we're still at home," explains Ana Matos in a conversation in which she also discusses the importance of music and words.
The dialogue is, in fact, the common thread of the works of Lula Goce and Daniel Eime, who have been alternating the authorship of the murals along the itinerary, establishing a conversation and cultural exchange with the protagonists and the regions.
"At Estrella Galicia we want to honor those who make this route a unique experience. The nine personalities who star in these murals perfectly represent the non-conformist spirit of our brand, and for us it has been a pride to be able to tell these stories through the talents of Lula and Daniel," comments Santiago Miguélez, Marketing Director of Estrella Galicia Iberia. "The 'Stars of the Camino' project is about continuing to tell even more stories, so we decided to make this bridge with our Portuguese neighbors, with whom we are so proud to share this Camino de Santiago culture."
