Delivery of 40 certificates in the sixth edition of the project

On the 18th, the Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho received the trainees of the +Literacy project for the diploma delivery ceremony for the 2021/2022 training year.
The session was attended by the Vice-President and Councilor for Social Intervention, Carlos Mouta, the Councilor for Education, António Correia Pinto, and the President of ADEIMA, Lurdes Queirós, who delivered the certificates to the trainees present, praising their efforts , courage and dedication.
The sixth edition of the +Literacy project allowed the delivery of 40 certificates.
The ceremony also included the musical performance of some students with poems from the book “O Poeta Faz-se” and with the collaboration of the Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos.
Concerned with the levels of qualification and training of the adult population, and its effects on employability, the Municipality of Matosinhos and ADEIMA - Association for the Integrated Development of Matosinhos, created the +Literacy project in 2015.
Aimed at people over 18 years of age, illiterate or with very low levels of literacy, this project aims to promote basic literacies - reading and writing, mathematical calculation, knowledge of the world, technological skills, and socio-cognitive development, with a view to professional (re)integration and an improvement in living conditions.
So far, the project has covered around 350 trainees and develops its training sessions in the four parish unions of the municipality, in a logic of proximity, in order to promote the adhesion and motivation of the population, as well as, in each edition, builds its own curriculum adapted to the needs and interests heard in the target audience.
This training curriculum covers the following areas of knowledge: Language and Communication, Mathematics for Life, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Citizenship and Employability, Executive Functions and Musical and Plastic Expressions. In addition to classroom learning, study visits are carried out in a real context, which enrich the training experience and provide new experiences.
As of the 2nd edition, the +Literacy Project started a partnership with the Qualifica Center of ADEIMA, enabling trainees to be certified with the 4th year of schooling (B1), through the process of Recognition, Validation and Certification of Competences (RVCC), having so far certified 37 people.
