Recorded the second largest increase in the first quarter of the year
The second largest increase in the first quarter of the year32.2% was recorded in the amount of growth in the municipality of Matosinhos, in terms of international trade, in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period last year.
Matosinhos recorded the second largest increase in exports of goods.
The data were revealed by the CCDRN- North Regional Coordination and Development Commission in its quarterly report Norte Conjuntura.
Since 2006, CCDRN has gathered and analyzed the most relevant information available with a view to early identification of trends that mark the short-term economic evolution of the North Region in the national context.
According to the document, exports of goods from the North increased by 15.2% in the 1st quarter of 2022 compared to the same period last year. Already in
Portugal, during the same period, the growth of exports of goods was 18.2%.
The main exported goods continue to be motor vehicles, tractors, cycles and other land vehicles, machinery, electrical equipment and materials, clothing and accessories.
In the list of the 20 most exporting municipalities in the North, Matosinhos ranks 16th in terms of unemployment. In fact, in the first quarter of the year, the municipality of Matosinhos reduced its unemployment rate by 16.5%.
