Concert at Matosinhos Memory Museum

The MuMMa - Matosinhos Memory Museum, received on Saturday evening a concert of the Matosinhos String Quartet, as part of the Classical Music Season 2022 developed by the Matosinhos City Hall.
The repertoire included works for String Quartet nº 2 in G Major (1895) by Vianna da Motta (1868-1948), Allegro vivace, Scenes in the Mountains - Adagio (piece I) and Presto (piece II); and the works for String Quartet nº 14 in D minor, D.810 (1824), by FRANZ SCHUBERT (1797-1828), Allegro, Andante con moto, Scherzo: Allegro - Trio, Presto - Prestissimo.
Created by the Matosinhos City Hall in 2007, the Matosinhos String Quartet is composed by: Vitor Vieira and Juan Maggiorani (violins), Jorge Alves (viola) and Marco Pereira (cello) being considered one of the best national classical music formations, having won in 2014 the Rising Stars Award of the European Concert Hall Organization.
Since its creation, the Matosinhos String Quartet has made a strong commitment to the Portuguese repertoire, interpreting lesser-known works and embracing new works by contemporary composers. In over 100 concerts, it has premiered works by Carlos Azevedo, Carlos Guedes, Fernando Lapa, Vasco Mendonça, Miguel Azguime, Eurico Carrapatoso, António Chagas Rosa, Álvaro Salazar, Nuno Corte-Real, Eduardo Patriarca, Paulo Ferreira-Lopes, Telmo Marques, Sérgio Azevedo and António Pinho Vargas.
