The Mayor of Gaia said in a social media post that Luísa Salgueiro would be interested in hosting the festival.

The next edition of the Marés Vivas festival will be held in Matosinhos, after years of being hosted in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Luís Felipe Menezes, Mayor of Gaia, announced on social media that he intended to move the festival to the interior of the municipality, against the wishes of the promoting company, PEV Entertainment.
In his post, the mayor also stated that "the Mayor of Matosinhos was kind enough to ask me if I could negotiate with these businesspeople who have thrown themselves into the limelight at our expense.
Our answer was yes, we have nothing against Matosinhos and even less against our excellent colleague, Mayor Luísa Salgueiro, to whom we wish every success."
The event promoter posted on its channels with the message ‘A new tide is coming.’ The 18th edition of the festival was sold out on all three days, with 120,000 people passing through the venue.
The 2026 edition was planned for 17, 18 and 19 July.
