MOODS Festival: three days of workshops, games, concerts and street performances

MOODS Festival starts tomorrow and lasts until Sunday, at Jardim Basílio Teles, in Matosinhos. Participation is free of charge

Tomorrow MOODS kicks off, a festival based on the environment, culture and sustainability. And the programme is extensive. There will be three days of concerts, traditional games, fairs, workshops and street shows. The festival, which will take place in Jardim Basílio Teles, in Matosinhos, is part of the Sustainability and Society Forum. It is an initiative of the Global Media Group, in partnership with Galp, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, INATEL Foundation, Bel Group and Matosinhos City Hall.

1. Concerts

It is in the bandstand that the days of the festival will end. It will be the meeting point, around 6.30 p.m., to watch three concerts. One on each day of the festival. Tomorrow, the performance belongs to Retimbrar. On Saturday, Kumpania Algazarra. And on Sunday, Be-Dom.

2. Street entertainment

Three itinerant entertainments will travel the streets of the Basílio Teles Garden. One of them is called "Brigada das Cores" (Colour Brigade) and aims to pass on a message of equality and inclusion. We are "all different, all equal" is the motto of the show that can be seen tomorrow at 3.30 pm and 5 pm. But there will be more. The "Lights of Time", which aims to alert to climate change and the need for a change in behaviour, will animate the streets at around 2.45pm tomorrow. The show repeats at 4.15 pm. On the other hand, "Fita Cola", which will have three characters "living in a caravan-vehicle" touring the garden, will open at 6pm. These shows can also be seen on Saturday and Sunday, but at different times.

3. Music workshops

The saying goes that "the little one chews the cucumber", and at MOODS, the youngest are the focus of the Apprentice stage. Tomorrow, around 4.30pm, there will be a music workshop for children. The Apprentice stage is only one of the several thematic stages that will be spread around the garden of Matosinhos. On the Habitation stage, at 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m., the public will be able to watch a "show between four walls and on three wheels". The project, by Thorsten Grutjen, promises to make people think about the right to housing, nomadism and the importance of seeing the planet as a home. These activities will be repeated on Saturday and Sunday, but at other times.

4. Games and activities

Traditional games are also part of the MOODS programme. They will take place on the INATEL stage, between tomorrow and Sunday, from 2pm to 6pm. The Matosinhos City Hall also promotes a series of activities during the three days of the festival. Tomorrow, from 2 p.m., the Municipality will organise a quiz, a workshop on fabric reuse and a workshop called "Life in a drop of water". Participation in these activities is free of charge.
