Registration for Pilgrim's Walk with historian Joel Cleto until 10 October

The Municipality of Matosinhos celebrates the National Pilgrim Day on 13th October by challenging the population to the walk "pilgrim for a day, pilgrim forever".
Starting in Anémona, at 8:30 am, and finishing at the northern border of the municipality, in Angeiras, this walk of about 13kms and with an average expected time of 4h30, will be guided by the historian Joel Cleto, who will do the route through the variant of the Atlantic Coast Path with the aim of boosting and promoting Matosinhos in the Ways of St. James, as our territory was the location of the famous legend of Cayo Carpo which gave origin to one of the most emblematic symbols of the Ways of St. James (Vieira) and the name of our land.
On this day, the participants will have the opportunity to get to know the itinerary of the Ways of Saint James in Matosinhos better and see how this tourist product is in continuous growth. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to get to know the main tourist attractions along the route of this variant, as well as to taste the gastronomy of Matosinhos, one of the ex-libris of our city.
It should be noted that, until August, about 15,000 pilgrims passed through Matosinhos on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
The walk "pilgrim for a day, pilgrim forever" is a free activity, but with limited places. Registration can be made until next Monday, 10 October, through the link: https://forms.gle/RQwSJt33495J4C1n9
