The 8th edition of Open House Porto returns on the first weekend of July, days 1 and 2, under the theme "Novelties in Architecture"
The choice of the spaces, for two days of visits, is the responsibility of curators Pedro Baía and Magda Seifert.
"The theme is inspired by the 1959 text by Nuno Portas, entitled "The responsibility of a very new generation in the modern movement in Portugal", they reveal.
In this text, Nuno Portas addresses architects who have recently joined the professional activity, proposing "the questioning of a very new generation, not only in their ideas and intentions, but, above all, in their works".
In this edition of Open House Porto, it is planned to visit indoor and outdoor spaces, in the company of experts and volunteers, in a route that will go through a wide range of spaces in the cities of Maia, Matosinhos, Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
The route is also accompanied by the Kaleidoscope and Plus Programmes, which propose a set of activities open to all audiences. All visits are free.
Volunteers can apply until 16 April to join the team of the 8th edition of the event. Applications are open to anyone over the age of 16 and interested in architecture, with a desire to interact with the public and a taste for the heritage built in the four cities mentioned.
