The number of physical and 'online' purchases in December increased 20% compared to the same month in 2021, according to payment company SIBS, which highlighted the 31% increase in remote purchases
"The latest data from SIBS Analytics (...) reveal that consumption in Portugal, in the month of December 2022, increased compared to the previous year, registering a growth of 20% in number compared to the previous year. The advance was, however, more significant in 'online' purchases: they increased 31% in 2022, while physical purchases rose 19% compared to the same period in 2021," says a statement from the company, released today.
Despite the increase in the number of transactions, the average value per purchase fell 2.6% to 36.30 euros.
