600 new species in the Leça Green Corridor
About 600 native species were planted in the Leça Green Corridor.
Ash, elderberry, willow, holly and hawthorn were the trees and shrubs planted.
The initiative of Quercus, in collaboration with the Leça River Corridor Association of Municipalities (of which Matosinhos is part) and the Leça da Palmeira Scouts Group 43, took place on 26th March, in front of Varas Park, in Leça do Balio, on the right bank of the Leça River.
The initiative, which aims to contribute to the ecological recovery of the banks of the river Leça, was attended by 50 volunteers from the Leça da Palmeira Scouts and their families.
This action also had the support of several companies, namely Frulact, PC &Companhia, RAW, Sogrape, Super Bock Group and Warelog.
A new planting action of another 400 trees is planned for April.
