A film that explores the family bond between father and son in a unique way, this is "Ice Merchants", the Portuguese work that is nominated in the "Best Short Film" category of the Annie Awards, considered the "Oscars of animation"

The short film in question is by João Gonzalez, born in Porto, who, last year, became the "first Portuguese animation director to be awarded at the Cannes Film Festival", recalls the biography available at Agência Curtas/Agência da Curta-Metetragem.

It is important to mention that also in this race are "Black Slide", by Israeli Uri Lotan, "Amok", by Hungarian Balázs Turai and "The Flying Sailor", by Canadians Amanda Forbis and Wendy Tilby, and "Love, Dad", by Czech Diana Cam Van Nguyen.

"Turning Red - Strangely Red" from Pixar Animation Studios, "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio" from Netflix, "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" from Dreamworks, "The Sea Beast" from Netflix, and "Wendell & Wild," a creation for Netflix born out of a collaboration by Monkeypaw and Gotham, are the nominees for the Best Picture category.
