Salt premieres at Constantino Nery

Co-production inspired by the stories of refugees seeking protection

The Matosinhos Dance Company premieres on Saturday night, at 21h30, at the Teatro Municipal de Matosinhos Constantino Nery the show "Salt".

Directed by Diana Amaral and Sara Silva, the contemporary dance piece is inspired by travel stories of people who, for various reasons, are forced to flee their homes and seek protection in other countries.

Looking at the current situation of war in Ukraine and the efforts made by the municipality to integrate refugees, the new production by Companhia de Dança de Matosinhos reminds us that even today boats are sinking in the Mediterranean, where migrants categorized as illegal travel, who are not always given the same opportunities.

Andrea Valenti, Marianna Diroma, Maria Carrasco and Vanessa Vieira da Cunha are the co-creators/performers of Companhia de Dança de Matosinhos that will give body to Sara Silva's choreography in collaboration with the collective Moradavaga.

This show is a co-production of Companhia de Dança de Matosinhos and Câmara Municipal de Matosinhos/Teatro Municipal Constantino Nery, and is part of the municipal strategy to challenge local artistic production.

Tickets for the show can be purchased either at Teatro Municipal de Matosinhos Constantino Nery or on the BOL platform, through the link https://www.bol.pt/Comprar/Bilhetes/112719sal_companhia_de_danca_de_matosinhos-teatro_municipal_constantino_nery/
