Serralves once again hosts the Autumn Festival

The event takes place this weekend and will feature activities such as music, theater, cinema or workshops for kids

Get ready because this weekend, September 24th and 25th, the Autumn Festival returns to the Serralves Foundation. As usual, the event is designed for socializing among families and friends and admission is free.

The organization's invitation is to experience the most rural area of Serralves Park. This is where you will be able to see and participate in activities as diverse as music and theater performances, workshops for kids, performances or walks. All with the aim of highlighting arts, crafts and the importance of the biodiversity of the place.

"Experiencing and creating ties with the Park is the starting point for getting to know the dynamics of autumnal diversity, the native breeds that cohabit here, the urban vegetable garden and the seasonal products, the art of know-how and the challenges that evoke awareness of an environmentally responsible and transformative culture," says the organization in a statement.

More specifically, you can count on some activities such as weaving and basketry workshops, cinema sessions for kids, puppet shows, exhibitions on mushrooms, markets, concerts with the Portuguese Symphonic Band percussion group or even Diabo a Sete, not forgetting field trips to explore nature. The complete program is available on the event's website.

During two years of the pandemic, the usual Autumn Festival was not held, so this year will be the ideal opportunity to return to the Serralves gardens for free. The event will have continuous activities from 10 am to 7 pm on both days, and the program may be modified due to unforeseen circumstances.

As for the free entrance, it should be done through the gates on Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa and Rua Bartolomeu Velho.
