Broken, bumpy and abandoned graves are a reality in this cemetery

The Parish Council of Leça do Balio, in Matosinhos, has been the target of criticism by the population due to the degradation of the cemetery. Several residents have complained about the lack of conservation of maintenance of the space, highlighting that the scenario becomes even sadder for those who visit those who have already departed.
"We have our relatives here and we paid for them to be here. There should be more notion," reports a resident of the parish.
In this cemetery, the inhabitants are faced with mudslides, broken graves and others with real signs of abandonment. The situation is not new, but it has intensified over the years, according to those who frequent the space.
"There's no proper broom to sweep the graves, and there are times when there's no water. It's a real misery", complains a 90-year-old resident. He has lived for several decades in Leça do Balio and has loved ones to visit in this cemetery.
