VCI has new radar which is not identified

The VCI has a new radar that is not identified, information was confirmed by Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), to Porto Canal. The radar was installed in September, on the A20 at kilometre 9.8



In statements to the agency, the entity explained that this is "a traffic calming measure aimed at increasing road safety at these locations approaching the curve zone," as "excessive speeds" are applied at these locations given the characteristics of the road.

IP said it had been implementing various signage measures, "with the aim of increasing road safety and improving information to motorists.

The placement of radars is intended to "alert motorists to the need to adjust the speed of circulation, complying with the established speed limits," and these "equipment performs instant speed control in the locations and directions where they are installed.
