Vodafone and Primavera Sound: together for Porto, for music and for the public always
In the year in which Primavera Sound Porto marks its tenth edition, Vodafone joins the celebration as sponsor and technological partner of one of the biggest festivals in the country.
With this partnership, Vodafone becomes the official operator of the festival, ensuring mobile and fixed communications in the venue. It will also give its name to the stage where big names of international and national music will perform. The Vodafone stage will have daily performances including New Order, NxWorries (Anderson. Paak & Knxwledge), Fred Again and The Comet Is Coming.
Primavera Sound Porto takes place from 7th to 10th June, in Parque da Cidade, in an edition marked by growth. The festival will have exceptionally one more day of concerts, going from three to four days, it grows from 60 artists to 76, and the capacity of the venue increases in about six hectares, being now possible to receive 45 thousand people in the largest urban park in Portugal.
Vodafone wants to contribute to the success of this historic edition and has prepared initiatives to improve the experience of the thousands of people expected at the event.
Primavera Sound Porto stands out from other festivals due to the unique musical experience - provided by a programme that brings together the most relevant artists from different musical backgrounds - and due to its location, which combines the best of Porto's cosmopolitan environment with the green scenery of the City Park and the blue of the sea.
"It's a unifying festival: it brings together distinct audiences in a single space to celebrate the best that music gives us. Its essence and values tell us a lot as a brand. For this reason, Vodafone joins in the celebration of the ten firsts of this emblematic festival in Porto, which has a fundamental relevance for the city and for the people of Porto. As sponsor and official network of the festival, we want to be an active part and continue to bring - and to elevate - the magic of music to Parque da Cidade," said Leonor Dias, Brand Director of Vodafone Portugal.
This bet reinforces Vodafone's connection to music - a sector that plays a central role in the brand strategy -, but also its association with major events in the sector that take place in the north of Portugal, a region where Vodafone has a strong customer base since the beginning of its activity. For more than 10 years Vodafone has also been the main sponsor of the Vodafone Paredes de Coura festival, one of the biggest and most emblematic festivals in the country that takes place in Alto Minho. And it now consolidates its connection to the northern part of the country through its partnership with the iconic Primavera Sound Porto.
"The connection to an international brand like Vodafone reflects the essence of the Primavera Sound Universe, which since its first edition has mirrored multiculturalism and innovation. The history of Vodafone's presence in art is long and harmonious, the respect and care shown are clear evidence that the Vodafone brand is the right partner to accompany the growth of Primavera Sound Porto," says José Barreiro, director of Primavera Sound Porto.
Vodafone and Primavera Sound are now together for Porto, for the music and for the public always.
