Warehouse in Matosinhos collapsed six months ago

State building rubble continues to occupy the public highway

Located in Rua Roberto Ivens, in Matosinhos, the space was occupied for years by the company Ponto Final Vinhos, which was dedicated to bottling and selling wines. The entire roof, as well as a considerable part of the façade, fell down more than six months ago. The resulting debris has still not been removed from the site, and has piled up on the public highway.

In statements advanced by JN, a source from the municipality advanced that the Civil Protection service "notified the owner - General Directorate of Patrimony (General Directorate of Treasury and Finance) - since the building, given its advanced state of degradation, can put at risk the safety of passersby".

The risk of collapse of what remains of the building is real, allied to the embarrassment caused to those who circulate, on foot, on that stretch. People are forced to move to the pavement opposite, which has led to many complaints from local residents.

The weather conditions that have been experienced in recent days increase the danger of a situation that has been dragging on for a long time. The Câmara de Matosinhos, so far, has limited itself to surrounding the building with protective railings.
